Kentwood Public Schools – Schools of Choice (SOC) Program 2025-2026

Kentwood Public Schools (KPS) participates in the Kent ISD Schools of Choice (SOC) Program for students living outside the district.

Application Window:

• Opens: April 14, 2025

• Closes: May 16, 2025, at 4:00 PM

• Applications must be fully completed and clearly filled out to be considered.

Available Seats:

• Grades 1-8: 17 spots per grade

• Kindergarten: 17 spots reserved for siblings of current SOC students

• If applications exceed available spots, students will be selected by a random draw.

• Non-selected applicants will be placed on a waitlist in the order drawn and notified if a spot becomes available before the first day of school.

Important Notes:

• Transportation is the responsibility of the parent; KPS does not provide bus services for SOC students.

• KPS may deny enrollment to applicants with a history of suspension or expulsion.

• Placement at a specific school building is not guaranteed.

How to Apply:

• Online: Applications are available and can be submitted online.

• In-Person: Pick up and submit applications at the KPS Administration Office, 5820 Eastern Ave SE.

• Deadline: Applications received after 4:00 PM on May 16, 2025, will not be considered.
