Internships (Grades 11 - 12)
An opportunity for juniors and seniors to spend several hours a week for eleven weeks of the semester with someone at his/her workplace to learn about a specific occupation or career. Students spend the first four weeks in class preparing for the internship and planning for a career. The last few weeks of the semester are spent developing a presentation about the internship experience.
Capstone (Co-op) (Grades 11- 12)
Capstone is a year-long program (formerly called Co-op) that is based on a working relationship between the school and the business community. It is designed to better prepare students for careers in the fields of business, office work, healthcare, technological occupations, and various other professions. The Capstone job is related to the careers selected on the student's Education Development Plan (EDP). The student takes a Capstone related class in school and works on-the-job in the community. Students gain a head start in the world of employment and learn problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills; all while on the job.
