Welcome to Explorer Elementary

 Explorer is a partnership in learning for all students, staff, parents, and community. We are dedicated to developing self-directed, life-long learners in a safe and nurturing environment.

10 Things You Should Know About Us: 

1. Excellence - We are a National Blue Ribbon School.
2. Involvement - 50 to 70% of our K-3 parents  volunteer regularly in our school.
3. Educated - Over 21 of our teachers have a Masters Degree.
4. Looping - Our lower elementary students stay with the same teacher for 1st and 2nd grade.
5. Multiage teaming - All lower elementary students K-2 spend part of the day working in teams that combine all three levels.
6. Citizenship - Many fifth grade students are involved in a volunteer role at our school.
7. Planning - Our PTC pays for teachers to take one grade level planning day a month to better integrate our curriculum.
8.Community Service- Our Red Cross recycled 13,309 plastic bags,  wrote cards for Nursing Home Residents and collected clothes for children in need.
9. Giving- Our students collected money for Juvenile Diabetes, Special Olympics and Jump Rope for Heart.
10. Sharing- Our school participated in Books of Hope by sending over 300 books to students in Uganda.
